1. How does food become the center of power relations between master and slaves?.
Food that is served on the table of slaves is different from whicich could be found on a master's table. It is because slaves can only afford to eat foods that cost less, meanwhile, a slave's master could afford sumptuous meals and banquets. Aside from that, the number of times a slave eats in a day differ from the times his/her master doesfrom the points stated food gives us the power relations between the master and the slave. Therefore, masters remain to be the superior than the slave

Food is associated with a mother because food is a basic need in order for us to survive through this world of uncertainty. The food serves as our strength in every trial that life gives us
just like our mothers, back to the time that we were still inside her womb, she provided us the nutrients and the food to survive. While inside our mother's womb, her body served us our protection as we continuously grow and develop.
